Operations Support and Logistics (OSL) Associate

Calian® is an Ottawa based producer of products and components for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). These include RF and high-performance antennas and intelligent location-based wireless infrastructure solutions for tracking systems.

Job Description:

  • Working as a member of Operations, you will work to support Shipping and Receiving activities and when needed assist in the Manufacturing environment. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide and ensure accurate material control and identification of materials. (ex. cycle count program, investigate & reconcile inventory discrepancies, execute warehouse transfer processes)
  • Manage deliveries for materials from suppliers or external warehouses into Calian’s warehouse
  • Liaise with Manufacturing, Production Planning, Purchasing, Shipping and Quality, working as a team to facilitate timely and accurate receipt and delivery of materials to the production environment.
  • Constantly review issues and improvement opportunities within the Supply Chain Team
  • Assist with product shipping or manufacturing during peak times or during vacation periods.
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with Calian’s Health & Safety Program, and Business Conduct Policies
  • Perform other appropriate activities as instructed by the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Operate in a fast and efficient manner following a defined work schedule from the Plant Manager while following all Health & Safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • A college diploma in a relevant discipline and/or two years of experience,
  • A self-starter with the ability to set and handle multiple priorities,
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP system,
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively,
  • Ability to work equally well as part of a team or individually,
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
  • Basic Computer proficiency in Excel, and Outlook,
  • Lift Truck and drivers License is an asset,
  • Ability to lift and move 50lbs.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing concepts is an asset
