Shipper/Receiver

Tallysman Wireless®, a wholly owned subsidiary of Calian Group Ltd., is an Ottawa based producer of antennas and R.F. components for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Products.

We are currently seeking a motivated Shipper/Receiver. This position is fast-paced, and requires significant attention to detail and an ability to multitask.  

Responsibilities and Duties:

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the primary responsibilities of this role are as follows, but may be altered from time to time to meet the changing needs of the Company.

  • Receive incoming deliveries of materials from Suppliers and/or external warehouses to Tallysman facilities, forwarding completed paperwork to OPS Admin
  • Load and unload trucks, railway cars, and other vehicles for transporting goods
  • Store, count, weigh, and open materials received
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance personnel to facilitate timely inbound inspection and movement of materials to inventory or where is applicable
  • Labelling of incoming materials to Tallysman standards and place in inventory  
  • Organize and work with Supply Chain Manager to organize and expedite inbound shipments as is required
  • Document and organize material transfers to our local Contract Manufacturer
  • Ship products to customers, ensuring documents are compliant with shipping, packaging and labelling instructions on customer purchase orders and update OPS Admin when shipments are complete
  • Assist with product packaging during peak periods
  • Participate in quarterly physical inventor counts
  • Keep warehouse and loading dock area clean and organized
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with Tallysman’s Health & Safety Program, and Business Conduct Policies
  • Dispose of leftover packing materials such as wooden crates, pallets, and cardboard
  • Perform any other activities as are reasonably required by the Supply Chain Manager

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A self-starter with the ability to set and handle multiple priorities
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP system
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively
  • Ability to work equally well as part of a team or individually
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic Computer proficiency in Excel, and MS Outlook
  • Lift Truck License is an asset
  • Driver’s License is an asset
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing concepts is an asset
  • Ability to lift and move 50lb boxes.
