Inside Sales Representative, GNSS


Full-Time, Permanent.     

Tallysman®, a Calian Group Company, is an Ottawa-based producer of products and components for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). These include RF high-performance antennas and intelligent location-based wireless infrastructure solutions for tracking systems.

We are a fast-growing company selling globally into many vertical markets where GNSS solutions are valuable. These markets represent leading-edge applications of precise GNSS timing and location services, including Precision Agriculture, Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics and the many applications of UAVs and Drones. Our Timing applications are essential to our networked world and include Renewable Power, financial transactions, 5G mobility and more. 

Reporting to the VP of Sales – GNSS, the inside sales representative role will encompass aspects of supporting the Tallysman Global Sales Team in the execution of the annual sales plan. This new role is fundamental in supporting and contributing to meeting our annual growth target. The successful individual will be a first contact point for inbound sales inquiries, phone and email-based, and responsible for outbound lead development programs with input from our sales account executives and indirect distribution channels.

Qualified applicants must be experienced and familiar with the sales pipeline, self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented, organized, result-driven, and customer-centric individuals who possess good interpersonal skills.

The over-arching objective is sales lead creation and development (inbound and outbound concepts) to provide Tallysman brand differentiation and new business with our customers and indirect distribution channels. You will be required to work closely with the marketing team, and sales account executives in the realization of the lead generation campaigns.

The ability to learn and then work at a reasonable technical level in GNSS is necessary.

The position is Full-Time and located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-qualify new prospective customers using BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Time frame) and prioritize lead distribution from sources such as Lead Forensics, marketing email campaigns, tradeshows, referrals, etc., logging lead assignments in CRM, revisiting and updating as required.
  • Create quarterly lead generation plan and present to executive management team, presenting the outbound lead generation plan, which includes outbound phone calls, outbound marketing and other demand generation activities which result in finding and developing new qualified sales prospects in our key vertical markets.
  • Become knowledgeable with the company’s products and the vertical markets we serve, preparing requested sales quotations as required.
  • Be responsible for the Development of Lead Generation activities and campaign programs (inbound and outbound), measuring and reporting on the success rate of those converted to sales monthly.
  • Develop relationships with Tallysman® staff and channel partners, being recognized as a key team contributor.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Experience with selling technology products to both technical and non-technical customers
  • A proven ability to establish strong customer relationships is essential
  • Five (5) years of experience selling to large corporations throughout the world
  • A University degree or college diploma in Technology, Marketing or Commerce would be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with GNSS applications industry would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Other languages would be an asset.
  • Familiarity and comfort with Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.
